Corporate Context
As a global leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, ACCIONA’s operations rely on an extensive supply chain, covering more than 40 countries and spanning sectors such as construction, water management, and renewable energy.
Approximately 80-90% of ACCIONA’s procurement spend is local, reflecting the company’s efforts to support economies where it operates. With a vast network of more than 67,000 active tier 1 suppliers and a highly dynamic supplier base, ACCIONA recognized the need for a solution to streamline supplier management, ensure compliance with emerging regulations, and uphold its commitment to sustainability.
Prior to adopting IntegrityNext, ACCIONA’s procurement process was robust and well-established but highly manual, involving cumbersome, outdated questionnaires. Suppliers across different regions faced onboarding times of up to 10 days. Driven by the need to strengthen due diligence, adapt to new legislation, and reduce the burden on procurement teams, ACCIONA sought a scalable supply chain sustainability solution.
The company selected IntegrityNext for several reasons:
Agility and Cost-Efficiency
IntegrityNext meets ACCIONA’s needs without high implementation costs or supplier fees.
Ease of Use
The platform’s intuitive interface facilitates quick adoption among suppliers and procurement teams.
Standardized and Up-To-Date Assessments
IntegrityNext’s questionnaires streamline supplier pre-qualification and keep pace with regulatory changes.
Scalability
In view of a growing supplier base, ACCIONA required a solution that could respond to its evolving needs.
Project Description

Key Stakeholders
The integration of the IntegrityNext platform was the result of close collaboration between ACCIONA’s internal teams:
- Sustainability and Compliance: Led ESG risk assessments, oversaw the implementation of IntegrityNext, and provided regulatory insights.
- Procurement: Played a pivotal role in operationalizing the process across ACCIONA’s supply chain.
- IT: Ensured seamless technical integration with existing platforms like the internal electronic tendering platform and procurement management system.
Over 1,000 users – including buyers, health and safety experts, and environmental specialists – interact regularly with IntegrityNext’s risk scores and alerts. The adoption of the platform was championed by ACCIONA’s Global Sustainability Director, who reports directly to the CFO.
Roll-Out
ACCIONA screens over 67,000 suppliers on an ongoing basis, adding more each month. Supplier risk assessments are based on a combination of financial and ESG criteria. Suppliers are deemed critical if their annual spend exceeds €400,000 and they carry a high sustainability risk. This applied to 11.8% of all suppliers in 2024. High-risk suppliers must provide detailed information on specific governance, environmental, and social topics, depending on their risk profiles.
The rollout was challenging due to the large volume of suppliers and the need for cross-departmental alignment. However, strong team collaboration, the platform’s user-friendliness, and effective coordination ensured a smooth implementation with minimal disruption to daily operations.
Implementation Partners
- IntegrityNext: Core platform for supply chain sustainability and risk management, providing country and industry risk data and used for high-risk supplier assessments during pre-qualification.
- Electronic procurement platform: ACCIONA’s procurement management system, integrated with IntegrityNext via an API.
- Riskmethods: Monitors risks across the supplier base, complementing IntegrityNext’s sustainability data with additional KPIs through a joint product offering.
- ACCIONA’s internal teams: Procurement, sustainability and compliance, and IT teams all contribute to the platform’s integration and ongoing management.
