Corporate Context

Cicor is a fast-growing company with over 20 production sites worldwide as of April 2025. While several are located in Europe, Cicor also operates its own facilities in countries such as China, Indonesia, Tunisia, and Vietnam. These sites operate independently within a decentralized corporate structure – a setup that offers many opportunities and benefits, but also presents challenges, especially when it comes to ensuring transparency and managing a global supply chain.

To address increasing regulatory demands – including the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and the Swiss Ordinance on Due Diligence and Transparency (DDTrO) – Cicor faced the challenging task of enhancing visibility into its complex supply chain. At the same time, the company sought to proactively prepare for upcoming obligations under the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

A coordinated approach across all production sites and various ERP systems was therefore needed. A consolidated supplier database laid the foundation for consistent data collection and analysis. This required high data quality, close collaboration with local teams, and greater awareness of sustainability topics across the procurement function.

The IntegrityNext platform enables Cicor to ensure transparency, consistency, and efficiency across the entire supply chain – while effectively managing sustainability risks across an evolving range of topics.

Project Description

Key Stakeholders

Group Compliance at Cicor leads the implementation and enforcement of regulatory requirements. In the area of supply chain due diligence, the department collaborates closely with Procurement and has designated responsible contacts at each production site to manage data collection and monitor progress.

Data analysis and reporting are carried out at the group level, while the IT department plays a key role in connecting ERP systems across sites and driving process automation. Local procurement teams are responsible for the day-to-day use and site-level integration of the platform and are actively involved in supplier communication.

Roll-Out

Implementation of the IntegrityNext solution began in December 2023 and was carried out in four phases, reflecting Cicor’s decentralized corporate structure:

  • Phase 1: Collection, consolidation, and quality validation of tier 1 supplier data in Germany and Switzerland, followed by upload to the IntegrityNext platform
  • Phase 2: Integration of suppliers from UK sites
  • Phase 3: Expansion to suppliers from Asian sites
  • Phase 4: Onboarding of suppliers from newly acquired sites

Cicor primarily uses the IntegrityNext platform to meet its supply chain due diligence obligations and legal requirements – through automated risk analyses, topic-specific self-assessments, and distribution of the Supplier Code of Conduct across its supplier base.

Key Outcomes

Supply Chain Transparency

Following a comprehensive master data review, more than 2,000 A/B suppliers were assessed on human rights and environmental topics via the IntegrityNext platform. This provided comprehensive insights into key risks across Cicor’s entire tier 1 supplier base.

Supplier Collaboration

Using the IntegrityNext platform has significantly strengthened collaboration with suppliers. At the same time, awareness of sustainability and legal issues – such as the importance of sanctions lists – has noticeably improved across the supplier base.

Efficient Communication

In just three months, more than 6,600 supplier outreach activities were initiated via the Action Tool. This enabled Cicor to gather critical information on supply chain disruptions and respond quickly to external events, such as the Baltimore bridge collapse (March 2024) and the Taiwan earthquake (April 2024).

Effective Compliance

The IntegrityNext platform enables efficient compliance with both internal policies and legal requirements, including the German and Swiss Due Diligence Acts (LkSG, DDTrO), and the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This puts Cicor in a strong position from both a legal and operational perspective.

Added Strategic Value

With IntegrityNext, Cicor has gained full visibility into its supply chain for the first time, revealing not only sustainability-related insights, but also new strategic opportunities. This includes a stronger negotiation position with suppliers and additional levers for process optimization across procurement.

The transparency we have gained through IntegrityNext enables us not only to meet compliance requirements, but also to identify and leverage operational synergies.

Future Outlook

Having successfully ensured compliance with legal requirements such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and the Swiss Ordinance on Due Diligence and Transparency (DDTrO), Cicor has already set its sights on new milestones.

Regulatory Requirements

The upcoming Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) are among the company's top priorities.

Focus on Tier 2 Suppliers

After completing assessments for all tier 1 suppliers, Cicor now plans to extend coverage to tier 2 suppliers via the IntegrityNext platform to gain deeper insights into sustainability risks and further strengthen supply chain resilience. Many of these suppliers are based in Asia.

Scope 3 Emissions

Building on a solid foundation for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data – and having already set corresponding reduction targets – Cicor will increasingly focus on Scope 3 emissions. The company’s efforts will center on collecting primary emissions data, both at the corporate level (Corporate Carbon Footprint, CCF) and the product level (Product Carbon Footprint, PCF).

System Integration

The IntegrityNext platform will play a central role in delivering on these priorities. As part of a pilot project, Cicor has extensively tested the IntegrityNext Extended API and plans to roll it out across all production sites in 2025 and 2026 to enable the efficient flow of data across all ERP systems.
