How It Works – EUDR Compliance in 5 Steps

Step 1 – Data Integration

Connect ERP, procurement systems, and data lakes via API integrations to bring all relevant supplier and product data into the system.

Step 2 – Supplier Onboarding & Data Collection

Invite suppliers to provide geolocation coordinates, product and origin data, and proof of legality via a guided portal.

Step 3 – Automated Risk Analysis

The provided geodata undergoes a multi-layered analysis and AI-powered evaluation against a reference catalog of historical satellite imagery to verify whether deforestation or degradation has occurred.

Step 4 – Risk Mitigation & Follow-Up

Create and track mitigation actions directly in the platform – from corrective action plans to supplier training – with full documentation and traceability.

Step 5 – DDS Creation & EU Portal Submission

Automatically generate DDS and submit to the EU TRACES portal via secure API, including 5-year archiving of all evidence.

What Is the EUDR and Who Does It Affect?

The EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR) is designed to fight climate change by curbing deforestation, forest degradation, and biodiversity loss in global supply chains.

From December 30, 2025, certain commodities and derived products may only be placed on or exported from the EU market if they are deforestation-free, legally produced, and demonstrably compliant through a Due Diligence Statement (DDS).

The regulation applies to a defined list of commodities and their derivatives, including soy, palm oil, wood, cocoa, coffee, rubber, and cattle – plus a wide range of goods made from them.

Core Requirements:

  • Deforestation-free
No forest loss since the 2020 cut-off date
  • Legally produced
Production methods must comply with the laws of the country of origin
  • Backed by a Due Diligence Statement (DDS)
Companies must submit a DDS for affected products to the EU TRACES portal

Who Is Affected?

  • Importers and traders placing EUDR-relevant goods on the EU market
  • Manufacturers processing raw materials from affected supply chains
  • Exporters shipping from the EU to third countries

Why Manual EUDR Compliance Doesn’t Work

The EUDR presents significant operational and technical challenges:

  • Traceability down to the exact land plot for every shipment
  • Geolocation mapping and multi-layer risk analysis for each shipment and supplier
  • Cross-department coordination between Procurement, Compliance, Sustainability, and IT
  • High manual effort in data collection, verification, and reporting
  • Continuous monitoring of suppliers and commodities for changes in risk status

The consequences of non-compliance are severe:

Fines up to 4% of annual EU turnover

Seized or blocked shipments

Audits & loss of EU market access

FAQ – Common Questions About EUDR Compliance

Does the EUDR also apply to tier 2 suppliers?

Yes – you must ensure that the entire upstream supply chain down to the land plot is EUDR-compliant. Our platform supports multi-tier traceability to include upstream suppliers in compliance.

Which commodities are in scope?

Currently soy, palm oil, wood, cocoa, coffee, rubber, and cattle – plus many derived products. The list may expand in the future.

How does geodata verification work?

Suppliers provide exact coordinates of production plots. These are compared with baseline satellite imagery from December 31, 2020 to confirm that no deforestation or degradation has occurred since that date.

How long does implementation take?

With our API-based approach and pre-configured workflows, you are typically ready within weeks – much faster than custom builds or complex IT projects.

What happens if a risk is detected?

Our platform triggers an instant incident alert. You can immediately define actions – from supplier training to corrective plans or switching to verified suppliers – with full audit trails.

How does IntegrityNext support suppliers with low digital maturity?

We offer free participation, a user-friendly portal, multilingual forms, built-in guidance, direct support – as well as an online learning and capacity-building platform – ensuring high response rates and complete datasets, even from small producers.
