Business Context
As a global technology company for smart manufacturing and supply chain solutions, Körber is committed to embedding sustainability throughout its corporate strategy and procurement processes. Under its LIFE 2035 strategy, sustainable sourcing is a key priority, with a particular focus on deforestation-free supply chains, raw material transparency, and decarbonization. The goal is not only to meet regulatory requirements, but also to advance responsible supply chain management and sustainable product development.
Körber is directly affected by the EUDR because many of its products contain wood, natural rubber, or palm oil-based lubricants. Numerous spare parts and machine components fall under the regulation, requiring the company to assess thousands of materials and hundreds of suppliers across at least 16 subsidiaries. Depending on the product and supply chain, individual group companies may act as operators, downstream operators, or traders under the EUDR. At the same time, Körber operates a global supply chain supported by a heterogeneous ERP landscape.
Early in the project, it became clear that preparing master data, classifying materials, and coordinating activities across multiple business functions would be major challenges. A manual approach also proved impractical given the scale and complexity of the task.
When evaluating EUDR software solutions, Körber focused on the following criteria:

The IntegrityNext solution stood out for its high level of automation, seamless integration with Körber's existing IT landscape, and its well-established supplier platform. As Körber was already using IntegrityNext for Supply Chain Due Diligence (SCDD), many suppliers were familiar with the platform and its workflows. An 80% response rate for SCDD self-assessments demonstrates strong acceptance among suppliers and provides a solid starting point for the EUDR rollout.
With thousands of affected materials and hundreds of suppliers, we needed an approach that could scale across the entire Körber group. Many of our suppliers were already familiar with IntegrityNext through our Supply Chain Due Diligence program, making the transition to the EUDR significantly easier.

Project Description

The EUDR project is managed at group level and brings together a broad range of business functions, including:

As a result, implementing the EUDR has evolved into a broader transformation initiative that extends far beyond traditional compliance activities. Its success depends on close collaboration across departments and the alignment of key processes throughout the organization. Within Procurement alone, around 380 employees are trained on EUDR requirements, highlighting the scale and cross-functional nature of the project.
Project implementation
Körber began preparing for the EUDR well in advance by systematically assessing the regulation's impact on its products, materials, and supplier base. In parallel, the company reviewed and enriched its master data, maintained HS codes, and identified suppliers falling under the regulation.
Working closely with IntegrityNext, Körber designed a largely automated end-to-end process for EUDR compliance covering every stage – from transferring relevant purchasing data from SAP and collecting supplier information to performing risk assessments, validating data, and generating Due Diligence Statements (DDS).
Early supplier engagement proved to be a critical success factor. Ahead of the official rollout, Körber informed its business partners about the upcoming requirements and, together with IntegrityNext, delivered dedicated training sessions. In addition, suppliers receive complimentary access to the IntegrityNext Academy, where they can prepare for the EUDR using practical guidance, training materials, and self-paced learning content.
As the regulatory framework continued to evolve after the project launch in July 2025, Körber adapted its approach. Close collaboration with IntegrityNext's product and development teams allowed the company to incorporate practical experience and specific requirements into the ongoing enhancement of the solution.
Following the one-year postponement of the EUDR, selected project activities were temporarily paused. With the project resuming in September 2026, Körber continues its preparations and moves forward with the next phase of implementation.
IT Integration
From the outset, the seamless integration of EUDR processes into Körber's IT landscape was a key requirement.
Through API integrations with both Körber's SAP systems and the EU TRACES portal, the IntegrityNext platform automates the exchange of data across the entire EUDR workflow. This includes transferring relevant purchasing data directly from SAP, engaging suppliers, performing risk assessments, and feeding DDS (including verification reference numbers) back into Körber's systems and business processes.
For group companies without SAP, standardized upload options provide an effective alternative. This enables Körber to deploy the IntegrityNext solution across a heterogeneous ERP landscape while establishing consistent EUDR workflows across the organization.
Key Outcomes
Scalable Compliance Processes
Körber has established a scalable, largely automated EUDR compliance process across the organization. By streamlining key workflows – from supplier engagement and data collection to risk analysis, data validation, and the generation of Due Diligence Statements (DDS) – the company has significantly reduced manual effort while improving the efficiency and consistency of its compliance processes.
Seamless System Integration
By integrating SAP, the IntegrityNext platform, and the EU TRACES portal, Körber has created a seamless end-to-end process with data flows across all systems. Relevant information is exchanged automatically and embedded directly into existing business workflows. Working closely with IntegrityNext's technical experts and leveraging comprehensive API documentation, Körber completed the technical integration in just one month.
Building on an Established Supplier Platform
Körber was able to build on an established supplier ecosystem rather than introducing a new platform. Because many suppliers were already familiar with IntegrityNext through the company's Supply Chain Due Diligence (SCDD) program, supplier onboarding was simplified, administrative effort was reduced, and supplier readiness could be analyzed at an early stage using IntegrityNext’s EUDR Readiness Assessment.
Embedding Sustainability Across the Business
The centralized implementation of the EUDR has strengthened sustainability as a cross-functional business priority across the organization. Procurement, IT, Logistics, Customs, Sales, and Sustainability now collaborate more closely through shared supply chain processes aligned with Körber's LIFE 2035 strategy.

Through its close partnership with IntegrityNext, Körber has contributed its practical experience and specific requirements to the ongoing development of the EUDR solution. At the same time, comprehensive support services and training programs help both Körber's project teams and suppliers navigate the EUDR with confidence.

Lessons Learned
Months before the EU Deforestation Regulation comes into force on December 30, 2026, Körber has already identified several key lessons.
The real work starts before the software implementation
Meeting EUDR requirements depends on reliable master data and a thorough understanding of your own supplier networks. This includes mapping materials to suppliers, identifying in-scope products, understanding each company's role along the value chain, and enhancing visibility into upstream supply chains. Organizations should also assess the regulation's impact on existing business processes at an early stage.
Treat EUDR as an organizational transformation initiative
Successful implementation requires unprecedented collaboration across Procurement, IT, Logistics, Sales, Customs, and Sustainability. A centralized platform helps coordinate these cross-functional activities while supporting standardized processes across the organization.
Engage suppliers as partners
EUDR compliance can only be achieved in close partnership with your suppliers. Long-standing business relationships, complex global supply chains, and limited alternative sourcing options make continuous dialogue, targeted training, and transparent communication critical success factors.
Design processes with future regulations in mind
The data foundation and processes built for the EUDR create value far beyond a single regulation. Companies should leverage the information they collect to support additional sustainability and compliance requirements, including the CSRD (such as ESRS E5 and S2), the CSDDD, and future regulatory initiatives.
Future Outlook
With the project resuming after the postponement of the EUDR application date, Körber is focused on the next phase of implementation. Priorities include fully activating supplier communication, further automating goods receipt processes, and continuously improving master data quality.
Looking ahead, Körber plans to leverage the data and processes established for the EUDR not only to ensure regulatory compliance but also to support a broader range of sustainability and compliance requirements. The long-term objective is to build an integrated, data-driven model for sustainable supply chain management across multiple regulatory frameworks.
