respektive1 is a marketing agency based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The company offers a broad range of services – from brand development and positioning to performance-driven campaigns and social media management. As a small enterprise with 24 employees, the management team decided in 2020 to strategically embed sustainability into its business model. This led to optimized governance structures and processes, as well as an expanded and more sustainable service offering.
In 2022, respektive1 became a certified B Corp – an internationally recognized label awarded to organizations that meet high standards of social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and governance. A key component of the certification is sustainable supply chain management. However, collecting data and assessing the risks associated with business partners presented a significant challenge.
To meet these requirements, respektive1 partnered with IntegrityNext. Key factors influencing the decision included:
- Cost considerations: Voluntarily implementing supply chain due diligence required a significant investment.
- Free access for suppliers: Many of the company’s business partners are small firms or freelancers with limited resources.
- High-quality and up-to-date data: Supplier assessments and risk evaluations needed to be reliable and aligned with the latest regulatory demands and sustainability standards.

Project Description
Key Stakeholders
Sustainability at respektive1 is primarily led by Managing Director Johannes Rapp and the company’s Sustainability Officer. Both work directly with data on the IntegrityNext platform, using it for analysis, strategic decision-making, and reporting.
As part of the B Corp certification process, the company is supported by a consultant. Evaluating sustainability in the supply chain is a core component of the certification – and this is where the IntegrityNext solution plays a key role.
Roll-Out
respektive1 uses the IntegrityNext due diligence process to systematically identify and assess sustainability risks in its supply chain. As a first step, all 100 of the company’s suppliers were automatically screened for country- and industry-specific risks. As a second step, the 30 most critical business partners received questionnaires covering a range of topics, particularly environmental protection – taking into account the adverse effects of printing processes and the use of chemicals – suppliers’ carbon footprint, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Additional focus areas include supplier ownership structures and financial KPIs, corruption risks, occupational health and safety, as well as human and labor rights.
Since completing some of the self-assessments required extensive supplier support, personal contact with business partners played a central role and contributed significantly to a strong response rate.
Using IntegrityNext’s strategic impact analysis, respektive1 was able to prioritize critical risk areas and suppliers – enabling a more efficient process.
Key Outcomes
Effective Risk Management
With IntegrityNext, respektive1 has established an effective process for identifying and assessing sustainability risks within its supply chain. In 2024, the analysis revealed that 67% of suppliers posed a low risk and 33% a medium risk. Based on these insights, targeted measures are developed collaboratively with partners.
Supply Chain Transparency
Completed self-assessments on the IntegrityNext platform cover 80% of the company's procurement spend. These suppliers have also set their own sustainability goals, actively contributing to the integration of responsible standards throughout the supply chain. Moving forward, all new business partners will be evaluated as well.
Contribution to B Corp Certification
Assessing and evaluating the sustainability performance of suppliers is a key component of the B Corp certification process. With the data and analytical insights provided by IntegrityNext, respektive1 has been able to further improve its B Corp score and strategically expand its sustainable management efforts.
Sustainable Supplier Selection
respektive1 has developed a preferred supplier list that incorporates sustainability criteria from the IntegrityNext risk evaluation process. Additional considerations include participation in IntegrityNext’s self-assessments, ambitious sustainability targets (e.g. CO₂ emissions reduction), and relevant certifications such as B Corp.
The IntegrityNext platform has enabled us to systematically assess over 80% of our procurement spend and gain reliable sustainability data on our suppliers. This gives us the confidence we need to make strategic decisions grounded in robust insights.
