Important terms and definitions under REACH
Authorization List (Annex XIV): Substances on the Authorization List may not be placed on the market or used after a specified date unless an authorization is granted for their specific use or the use is exempt from authorization.
Candidate List: Contains all Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) for authorization. These are subject to additional protocols and reporting requirements and may eventually be added to the Authorization List, further limiting their use.
Restriction List (Annex XVII): Contains substances, including mixtures and those in articles, whose manufacture, placing on the market or use is restricted or banned in the EU.
